This is incredibly interesting and validates what I’ve thought for a few years. I’m benzo injured and I also have a cyp2c19 variant as an ultra rapid metabolizer. I knew from the meds listed (an acid blocker and a benzo - I was on both) this had to be a reason why I was paradoxical immediately and injured very badly in a few short months.

I’m so sorry you had to learn the hard way. These tests are tricky because they only indicate if someone might metabolize a drug outside the norm, but it doesn’t indicate how that shows up in the body or what changes when other drugs interact. I hope you’re doing better. Keep going.

Nice article. I helped start a genetics diagnostic company years ago. Computational Biology is/was my focus. You did well writing about this. Smart girl.

She did well writing about this--? WTF does that mean, William? It was above her head to start with (compared to your degree? but FOR A GIRL, she managed to pull it off? "Smart girl?" You're an offensive caveman.

No offense was taken, sue. Not everything is a micro aggression. Its okay.

I meant exactly what I said. It is a compliment, a congratulation, a recognition of her excellent explanation. Wow. What's your problem?

You’re fine, William. No offense was taken.

I am still on my drug cocktail...but maybe one day with so much more study like this I can be free. Thanks for writing!

Me too. I have been on Buproprion (Dopamine, Norepinephrine re-uptake inhibitor) since my wife died. It has helped dampen the up and down swings. But I want to get off this one day.
